The adorable cub makes its public debut today as over a thousand people rush to see the healing mascot

The giant panda cub “Yuan Zai” has been on display alongside its mother “Yuan Yuan” since today (the 6th). The zoo is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with ticket sales and entry ending at 4:00 PM. The extremely popular Giant Panda Pavilion is open from 9:10 AM to 5:10 PM. The Giant Panda Pavilion is closed on the first Monday of each month, but if a national holiday falls on that day, the closure will be postponed. The scheduled closure dates for 2014 are January 30, February 17, March 3, April 7, May 5, June 9, July 7, August 4, September 1, October 6, November 3, and December 1.

 

Regarding the capacity of the Giant Panda Pavilion, 400 people are allowed in every 10 minutes, with a maximum of 19,200 visitors per day. For visiting, visitors need to collect a “Giant Panda Pavilion Admission Ticket” on the day of entry, and enter according to the time slot indicated on the ticket. Those who arrive late must first queue in the “Late Arrival Waiting Area.” Management will then allow a suitable number of people to enter based on the queue situation inside the pavilion. Those holding a “Giant Panda Pavilion Admission Ticket” are advised to arrive at the pavilion 10 minutes early and wait at the designated area. Please make sure to store any food and keep noise levels low before entering, so everyone can enjoy a comfortable visit, and also ensure that “Tuan Tuan,” “Yuan Yuan,” and “Yuan Zai” can live happily.

For group visitors who wish to make reservations, currently reservations are tentatively accepted for visits from January 6 to January 29. Further announcements will be made based on handling progress. For school field trip groups and groups with 30 or more people, reservation forms (“Taipei City Zoo Giant Panda Pavilion Group Visit Registration Form”) must be filled out via email or fax at least three days prior to the planned visit date. Weekday time slots available for group reservations are 9:10–10:00 AM (300 people per session) and 10:00–11:30 AM (200 people per session); no group reservations are accepted for other time slots. On holidays, group reservations are limited to 100 people per session between 9:10–11:30 AM; no group reservations are accepted for other time slots.
