Jinmen, located off the southeastern coast of Fujian, came under military control after the Chinese Civil War in 1949, ushering in 29 years of continuous shelling. However, under General Hu Lian’s strategy of “trading sorghum for rice,” the fate of Jinmen’s people began to change. He founded the Jinmen Distillery, which today generates annual revenue of about 16 billion yuan. He encouraged locals to grow sorghum and implemented a policy of exchanging one jin of sorghum for one jin of rice, gradually improving the lives of the residents. Of course, the achievements of the Jinmen Distillery and the benefits it brought to local people were not achieved overnight—the arduous process behind them is rarely known. In the early days, the distillery could only use coal to cook sorghum rice, and workers had to tread the mash barefoot. They endured freezing winters and sweltering summers. Yet, through generations of brewers dodging artillery fire while continuously refining brewing techniques and equipment, they eventually produced fragrant sorghum liquor. This documentary follows the life experiences of several veteran brewers, recording their journey to create a path to happiness unique to Jinmen. Within every bottle of sorghum liquor lies not just alcohol, but also the unyielding spirit of the people of Jinmen.

He retrieves two emaciated and exhausted horses, but in the process, his beloved wife is brutally attacked and dies in his arms. With nowhere to turn and consumed by grief and rage, Klaus decides to pursue a deeper sense of justice—leading his followers in an armed uprising, fighting violence with violence. But what truly constitutes justice?

The film depicts an aging female star who, desperate for publicity, turns to her most valuable asset—her “face”—only for things to spiral out of control, unexpectedly turning into an absurd and laughable farce. Blending American romantic elements with Italian satirical classics, it straddles the line between soap opera and situational realism. With black humor techniques inherited from Pedro Almodóvar but taken to new heights, it earns nominations for Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress, and Best Costume Design. The Italian film diva, a former supermodel, plays the beautiful TV host, wearing custom-made dresses adorned with exquisite embroidery and ruffles, exuding an air of elegance and allure.
