Yellow Duck in Keelung
The Yellow Duck exhibition in Keelung has been ongoing for nearly a month. Despite the incident where it burst on New Year’s Eve, after two days of emergency treatment and touching up, it made a scar-free comeback to welcome the Lunar New Year with everyone.

Taipei City
Taiwan’s first locally born giant panda cub, “Yuan Zai,” officially met the public earlier this month, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors on its debut day. During the New Year holiday, besides visiting Yuan Zai at the zoo, you can also take the “Yuan Zai Train” on the Wenhu Line of the Taipei MRT. Both the inside and outside of the train feature illustrations of Yuan Zai and the zoo, and the seats even have 3D sticker designs for interactive photos.

Taichung City
The Taichung Teddy Bear Carnival wrapped up successfully on January 5. To continue the excitement and joy that teddy bears bring, the Taichung City Government’s Economic Development Bureau has planned the “2014 Travel with Little Bears” event, which will run through the end of April. Locations include the Zhongzhong Free Road Commercial District, Qiuhong Valley AAA HOUSE, Wujhi District Zhonghe Community Development Association, Shengang District She’nan Flower Sea, Taichung Lantern Festival, Aido Happiness Square in front of Chao Gang City International Gourmet Restaurant, and the Hakka Cultural Park in Dongshi District—all spanning the Spring Festival holiday.

Tainan City
The 2014 Tainan Winter Hot Air Balloon Fire Dance Art Festival has kicked off. Running from now until February 16, the event features activities themed around hot air balloons and American fire dance performances. One of the most popular offerings is the tethered hot air balloon ride, with two sessions daily: 7:00–9:00 AM and 3:30–5:30 PM, each limited to 350 participants. The light and music show will be held at 5:30–6:00 PM on January 18, 25, and February 1, 8, and 15—five shows in total. Additionally, this year features a 10-meter-tall cute panda and yellow duck inflatable characters joining the fun at the Zouma Lai Farm Green Field.
