Valentine's Day Romantic Attractions in Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau Director Hsu Chuan-sheng stated that in preparation for Valentine's Day, the city government has been creating romantic tourist attractions in Kaohsiung. The first was the observation deck in front of the Shoushan Martyrs’ Shrine and a “LOVE” installation art piece, combining the views of Shoushan and Kaohsiung Harbor to convey the enduring love symbolized by “a vow made on the mountain and by the sea.” Then there's the well-known Love River, expressing the deep affection of couples who wish to “bathe in love forever.” More recently, the creative planting at Formosa Boulevard Station, paired with the backdrop of the 85 Sky Tower — one of Kaohsiung’s landmarks — expresses the sentiment of “love reaching the highest point.” The Tourism Bureau has linked Kaohsiung’s major attractions, combined with the sweet atmosphere of Valentine's Day, and used tourism’s soft power to promote the city.

The city’s Tourism Bureau used 3D green sculptures and vertical planting designs at Exits 2 and 4 of Formosa Boulevard MRT Station. These include “Happy Swans,” “Love Gift Boxes,” and “Diamond-Lit LOVE Letters” at Exit 4, as well as “Ode to Joy,” “Hearts Entwined,” and a “High” ribbon motif at Exit 2. Adjacent to the shops selling gifts and wedding cakes along Zhongzheng Road, these features combine prayer and love motifs, becoming new hotspots for couples taking photos or having wedding photoshoots, helping successfully shape Kaohsiung as a city of happiness.
