The "Spring Feast" at Meifeng in Nantou: The Perfect Time to Admire Peach Blossoms in March

The NTU Mountain Experimental Farm, which has been hosting the "Spring Feast" for 12 consecutive years until 2013, will once again hold its annual "Dancing Flowers in the Spring Breeze – Peach Blossom Corridor" from March 15 to 30, 2014. The Meifeng Spring Feast, where flowers bloom in profusion, always begins in spring—a hopeful season bidding farewell to winter. This year’s theme, "Gardens & Arts Together," will allow netizens to experience the joy, scenic beauty, creativity, and local charm of the farm’s spring.

Located at the 14.5 km mark of Provincial Highway 14A in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, the NTU Meifeng Farm boasts diverse ecological landscapes. By adopting soil and water conservation practices and environmentally friendly methods, it produces healthy, high-quality agricultural products for teaching, research by NTU faculty and students, and environmental education for the public. On June 23, 2013, it was awarded the First National Environmental Education Award – Institutional Category (Excellence).

 

This year’s "Spring Feast" is divided into five zones, unified under the themes of "Garden," "Fate," "Circle," "Origin," and "Source," forming the overall framework of the 2014 Spring Feast. Highlights include the "Dried Flower Room," "Temperate Flower Area," and "Monstera Deliciosa Special Exhibition Room," all planned based on the farm’s horticultural expertise, showcasing the vibrant beauty of spring blossoms. The "Peach Blossom Corridor" opens with a pink, romantic tunnel of peach trees, creating a lovely atmosphere for families, couples, and friends to gather. The "Early Spring Alpine Plants Special Exhibition" displays a collection of unique native plants from Taiwan’s mid-altitude regions, creatively arranged. Additionally, the event reflects the farm’s commitment to natural, safe, and healthy farming practices, illustrating the harmonious relationship between food and people. Of course, Taiwan’s largest native plant hedge maze and the world-exclusive Phalaenopsis variety series unique to Meifeng will also be on display during the event.
