Since 2012, the Chiayi Forest Management Office has been promoting forest literature, inviting contemporary poets to write about Alishan, and carving poetry steles from materials such as basalt to create the "Zhaping Park Poetry Path." The office especially recommends flower-viewing visitors to stroll through Zhaping Park, and through the words of poets, experience the beauty of Alishan’s flowers, landscapes, and ecology. It also recommends visitors who wish to take a leisurely tour of the park to visit the Zhushan Alpine Botanical Garden to admire the travel photography works of Mr. Wen Yaohsing, spending a relaxing afternoon immersed in artistic ambiance. For those wanting to enjoy an outdoor musical atmosphere, they can head to the King Cherry Blossom Platform on March 17, 24, and 31 in the morning to enjoy elegant melodies. Visitors can also make the most of the flower seasonwith the limited train services on Wednesdays (March 19, 26, and April 2, 9) on the Zhaping Lineto capture classic shots of steam trains weaving through blossoms and treetops.
Visitors planning to take Class A or B large buses up the mountain into the park should apply for entry in advance via the Alishan Group Tourist Diversion Reservation Website. Those planning to visit Alishan during flower season holidays before the end of March should pay attention to the traffic control measures for Alishan Flower Season implemented by the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
