If you continue along the North Cross-Island Highway, turn onto a narrow mountain road to the left, then weave through a winding path, you’ll come across a cottage with European charm—that’s the Prado Countryside Pace Homestay. Prado, just like its name, gives off a serene and elegant vibe. The entire homestay is furnished with soft sofas, and you can tell the owner has put great thought into their color scheme—apple green, ivory white, or strawberry red—all healing tones. Though the decor is simple, it makes you feel completely at ease in this comfortable environment.

In this yellow-green wooden house with a red roof, the first-floor common area is designed with an open layout that combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen, allowing guests to move about freely without constraints. At the end of the hallway, a turn leads to another living space, ensuring each group of guests enjoys undisturbed rest. The second- and third-floor guest rooms all feature European four-poster beds paired with rustic solid wood furniture. Through the windows, you can admire the tranquil rural scenery outside, creating a naturally warm and inviting atmosphere.

The third-floor guest rooms on the top level also come with open-air bathrooms and balconies. A transparent acrylic ceiling shields against wind and rain but still offers a view of the clouds and stars, rain or shine. Looking out from the back window of the staircase in the Countryside Pace area, you’ll see a European-style scene composed of the old and new Kikuo Pai Churches—a spectacular view specially reserved for guests by the owner, Mr. Wu.
