Taiwan High-Speed Rail Adds Trains During Qingming Holiday; Tickets Go on Sale at 12:01 AM on March 22

During the 2014 Qingming holiday transport period, Taiwan High-Speed Rail saw enthusiastic advance ticket purchases. To enhance services for passengers traveling home or going on trips,the company will add two more southbound and two more northbound trainsduring the transport period from April 3 to April 7, totaling four additional train services, to alleviate peak-hour crowding. All four additional train serviceswill offer an Early Bird discount of 10% off,and tickets will go on sale starting at midnight on the 22nd.

 

Among the four additional trains added for the Qingming transport period, Train No. 1659 on April 3 (departing Taipei Station at 1:18 PM) and Train No. 1707 (departing Taipei Station at 2:48 PM) will stop at all stations along the route; on April 6, northbound Train No. 1646 (departing Zuoying Station at 11:48 AM) will make all stops,while Train No. 1176 (departing Zuoying Station at 12:12 PM) will stop at Zuoying, Taichung, Banqiao, and Taipei stations.

 

Passengers can purchase tickets for these four additional services starting at midnight on the 22nd via 24-hour convenience stores partnered with the high-speed rail, online booking, the “T Express” mobile app, the voice reservation system, or at ticket windows and ticket vending machines during station operating hours. Those who book eight days before departure may also enjoy the Early Bird 10% discount.
