Jianan Mountain

Famous for being a filming location of the idol drama “In Time with You,” Jianan Mountain has become extremely popular and is one of the most well-loved night view spots in Taipei. The transportation is quite convenient—just about 15 minutes by bike from the foot of the mountain. Here you can see the iconic Miramar Ferris Wheel and Taipei 101. In the night, the twinkling city lights all become the most beautiful decorations.

Xiangshan

With an elevation of only 181 meters, Xiangshan may not be the greatest challenge for avid hikers who love “climbing mountains,” but it’s an easily accessible spot for urbanites. Park your car and hike for just over 20 minutes to reach the top. Once at the summit, if you still have energy or want to stretch your muscles, there are plenty of fitness facilities along the trail to test your strength and lung capacity.

From the top of Xiangshan, you can take in nearly the entire night view of Taipei, which is why it attracts many couples, as well as photography enthusiasts who bring their gear up the mountain just to capture the beauty of Taipei 101 and the surrounding Taipei Basin.

Dajianshan

The Dajianshan area in Xizhi sits at an elevation of 460 meters, with over a thousand mountain cherry blossom trees planted mainly along Qinjin Road. Most visitors start their trip from Tianxiu Temple (No. 601, Qinjin Road), which is also the best spot to overlook the city landscape and enjoy the sunset. The scenery changes dramatically from day to night, offering unique charm throughout—cherry blossoms by day, sunsets at dusk, and night views at night.

Back Hill of Chinese Culture University

Yangmingshan is a classic destination for romance and night views, and among them, the back hill of Chinese Culture University is especially loved by couples and photography enthusiasts. According to an anonymous photographer, although it’s late at night when shooting here, the flashes never stop, which made this single shooter quite miserable. Shitoushan

The Shitoushan Trail in Bitan, Xindian, is a fantastic local spot for watching the sunset and night views. Many people head to Qingninting Pavilion to enjoy the night scenery. In the darkness, you can see the tracks of National Highway No. 3, highlighted by its gleaming golden curves—an iconic nighttime feature. On the other side of Qingninting, you can see Xindian’s Sunshine Bridge and Xiaobitan Station sparkling in the night.
