Its design philosophy is evident from the building’s exterior, which resembles a birdcage. The free-spirited wandering birds and the seemingly contradictory concept find harmony at Taichung Birdie Days. The elegant grey tones of exposed concrete are layered with minimalist geometric lines. Amidst the crisp, cool aesthetic, a deep and beautiful charm shines through, offering visitors not only the chance to explore scenic spots but also unexpected freedom and scenery.

The entrance wall welcomes guests with “Hotel day,” wishing them well every day. Through the entrance installation wall “Have a nice DAY” and the use of tools like wrenches, vices, and pickaxes—cold, hard metals and rusty old tools representing the vibrant energy of Taichung’s metalworking factories—the design breaks conventional frameworks, blending rigid materials with soft concepts to inject creative energy into the hotel.

Throughout the hotel, thoughtful details abound: a white bird clock flying into the counter symbolizes a resting spot for wandering birds on their journey; the Cloud Wave Book Nook offers a quiet corner with a comfortable sofa, where one can follow the plot of a book and embark on a personal journey; the light filtering through the open atrium leaves natural traces for the city’s wandering birds, and as the sundial moves, subtle surprises dance with the shifting light.
