Famous for its mid-to-high altitude forest eco-tourism, Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area has seen its “Duowang Suspension Bridge” become a romantic hotspot for couples. The bridge, reopened on January 24, sits at an altitude of 520 meters — which sounds like “I love you” in Chinese — leading to its affectionate nickname and making it a beloved secret spot for lovers.

Shortly after the bridge’s reopening, it welcomed the first Western Valentine’s Day. The Luodong Forest District Office seized the moment to launch a promotion: take a selfie with the bridge at the official fan page and check in to enjoy 1-for-1 deals on open-air SPA and nude hot spring entry at Renzhen Hot Springs, saving NT$250 instantly. Private hot spring rooms, originally priced at NT$700, are also available for just NT$520 during the event.

The hot spring water at Renzhen, located by the bridge, seeps from cracks in the mountainside, with the source temperature reaching around 140°C. The soaking area is adjusted to a comfortable range of 38–42°C. The water is clear, colorless, and odorless, leaving your skin feeling smooth. It is a weak alkaline calcium carbonate hot spring known for soothing muscles and beautifying the skin — earning the nickname “Beauty Spring.”

If you’re up for more adventure, consider heading up to 2,000-meter-high Taipingshan to catch the frost-covered forests during the cold wave. This morning (the 12th), temperatures dropped to just 0°C, turning the entire mountain area into a silver-white wonderland.
