The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications held the “2014 Taiwan Summer Solstice 235” Summer Creative Grass Jelly Showdown, in which the public voted for the top 10 creative grass jelly creations recommended by scenic area management offices along the Tropic of Cancer and local governments. After intense expert evaluations and over 60,000 online votes, the Osmanthus Pineapple Grass Jelly from FoDu in Tainan not only received the highest number of online votes (10,821), but also won the favor of the expert judges to claim the overall championship.

The “Boss Catering Consultant Co., Ltd. (FoDu Grass Jelly),” recommended by the Tainan City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau to participate in the Summer Creative Grass Jelly Showdown, emphasizes the use of all-natural, hand-washed grass jelly. For the championship-winning Osmanthus Pineapple Grass Jelly, for instance, it incorporates Taiwan’s seasonal summer fruit—Guanmiao pineapple—into the grass jelly, along with a hint of osmanthus fragrance. It’s both refreshing and thirst-quenching, with the sweet-and-sour taste being a true taste of Taiwan. It's the perfect cool-down choice for the hot summer. During the voting period, the tourism and travel bureau encouraged the public to vote for the Tainan stores participating in the event. Aside from linking to the event website via their official site, they also launched an additional campaign on the Tainan Travel Facebook fan page: vote for the Tainan stores participating in the event for a chance to win one of two iPad minis. The lucky winners will be announced on the fan page.
