Eight Immortals Mountain was once selected as one of the “Eight Scenic Spots of Taiwan” during the Japanese colonial period, ranking alongside Sun Moon Lake and Alishan, and is also one of Taiwan’s three major forest farms. The park is home to about 1,000 mountain cherry trees, which are currently in full bloom. Peach and plum blossoms are also blooming in succession, painting a scene reminiscent of the Peach Blossom Spring depicted by Tao Yuanming, brimming with endless imagination.

The Eight Immortals Mountain Forest Recreation Area is located at the 33-kilometer mark of Provincial Highway 8 in Heping District, Taichung City, at an altitude between 700 and 2,500 meters. It is a five-minute drive from the Guguan Scenic Area. The area preserves a temperate mixed forest of coniferous and broadleaf trees, with meandering valleys weaving through the woods, giving off a serene, otherworldly vibe. The park also features a bamboo forest trail where visitors can stroll and breathe in the rich phytoncides in the air, leaving them feeling refreshed and invigorated. Eight Immortals Mountain is truly a cherry blossom and forest hidden gem in central Taiwan.

In addition to flower viewing, you can also visit Guguan for a hot spring soak, enjoying a triple treat of cherry blossoms, forests, and hot springs. The park also offers log cabin accommodations and dining options.
