Entering its 16th year, the Taipei Film Festival presents a fresh lineup for audiences. The festival includes film screenings, the Taipei Film Awards competition, the International New Talent Competition, as well as the annual highlight for Taiwanese filmmakers—the Taipei Film Awards Ceremony—and numerous fringe events, inviting movie lovers to enjoy a cinematic summer.

 

This year’s visual identity is inspired by a photographer’s equipment, assembled like tools taken from a toolbox to form a butterfly emerging from the photographer’s shoulder. Just as film images are brought to life by these behind-the-scenes creators, the imagery symbolizes wings that help movies take flight. The winning design, selected through an open call, features vibrant, playful colors representing the energetic film community. The lens is stylized like building blocks, paired with a richly layered background for a striking overall effect.

 

This year’s festival venues include Taipei Zhongshan Hall, Taipei Shin Kong Cineplex, and Huashan 1914 Creative Park’s Spot Film Gallery.
