Taiwan Railways stated that following the electrification of the Hualien-Taitung railway line and in conjunction with the “Hualien-Taitung Industrial Development and Green Transport Expo” event organized by the National Development Council in the Hualien-Taitung region, a highly valuable travel ticket has been introduced.The "Hualien-Taitung Green Voucher" (Young Pass) allows unlimited rides for three consecutive days from the date of purchase on all train types up to and including the Tze-Chiang Limited Express (excluding Puyuma, Taroko, sightseeing trains, group trains, special trains, cruise trains, Taroko Express business class carriages, and other designated trains by the railway administration).
The sales period runs from July 16, 2014, to September 15, 2014, and the vouchers are available exclusively at four stations: Hualien, Yuli, Taitung, and Zhiben.When purchasing, travelers must exchange with a same-day reserved-seat ticket from any station outside Hualien and Taitung to any station between Hualien and Zhiben (for example: a Yilan–Hualien Puyuma ticket). Each ticket is eligible for one voucher exchange. Additionally, during the Hualien-Taitung Green Voucher sales period, the original Hualien-Taitung Pass is temporarily suspended. Please pay attention to the relevant regulations if you plan to purchase one.

Additionally, in coordination with the deployment of 17 Puyuma trains on the Eastern Line, 416 train services across Taiwan will adjust their schedules, with 235 of them experiencing schedule changes of more than five minutes. It is estimated that nearly 250,000 trips will be affected. Adjustments on the Western Line are smaller, and the current service frequency between Taipei and Taitung has been reduced from one train every two hours to one every 65–84 minutes. Puyuma trains now run 12 round trips between Taipei and Taitung on weekdays, increasing to 18 on holidays, making future travel to eastern Taiwan even more convenient.
