Tense,thrilling,and full of fun"Office Chair Racing Competition"is making its return to Taiwan once again. Since sparking conversations in Japan, the race has entered its ninth year. Last year marked its first overseas event in Tainan, which received an enthusiastic response. This year (2017)

will be held on March 18th at the starting point of the Orchid Fern Bicycle Trail in Jiuru Township, Pingtung, where the road will be closed for the event.

The public is invited to come to Pingtung and relieve the dull stress of everyday work.

Don’t think sliding on an office chair with your feet is easy. Though it may seem simple, it actually requires great balance — especially when completing a three-person relay race within two hours, which demands plenty of stamina. This year, the event is being held in Pingtung for the first time, aiming to creatively encourage youths and office workers to head outdoors. Not only is it low-carbon and environmentally friendly, but it also showcases the vitality of rural industries. The day before the event, there will also be a “clay oven family activity” to warm up.
