On the island of Hawaii, water scenery isn’t limited to the seaside. A previously published article by a well-known international travel magazine introduced waterfall adventures on the island of Hawaii, featuring many spectacular waterfalls cascading from cliffs and canyons, among which Rainbow Falls stands out as the most unique.

Rainbow Falls (Waianuenue) is located within Waimea Valley State Recreation Area in Hilo, on the western side of Hawaii’s Big Island.
Waianuenue means "rainbow in the water" in the Hawaiian language.
When the waterfall’s torrent crashes down forcefully, it stirs up mist in the clear pool below. When hit by the morning sunlight and refracted, it forms a stunning rainbow – hence the name.
