Okayama is known as the Land of Sunshine ("Hare no Kuni"), boasting the highest number of sunny days in all of Japan. Its Seto Inland Sea-type mild climate has earned it the reputation of being a kingdom of fruit. Throughout the year, a variety of temperate fruits are introduced one after another, but it is especially famous for its white peaches and Muscat grapes.

From late June to August each year is the peak season for white peaches. This year, Okayama Prefecture in Japan has specially arranged for freshly picked white peaches to be flown to Taiwan. They will be available for a three-day special sale at the "Fresh Mart" supermarket on the B2 level of Pacific Sogo Department Store Zhongxiao Branch in Taipei’s East District from Friday, August 15th to Sunday, August 17th.Samples of the white peaches will be available for tasting at the event, and cute Momotaro-themed gifts will also be given to attendees.

In addition to tasting the fragrant and sweet premium white peaches, visitors can also enjoy the limited-time summer evening light-up events at two of Okayama Prefecture’s three famous gardens — Korakuen Garden, and Okayama Castle, also known as the “Crow Castle.” The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, designated as an Important Traditional Buildings Preservation District, is also a must-visit spot, featuring the picturesque willow-lined Kurashiki River and its iconic white-walled buildings. Additionally, the Kibitsu Shrine, which is the origin of the Momotaro legend, offers a unique divination ritual called the "Narukama Shinji" that’s worth exploring.

Okayama Prefecture in Japan also welcomes Taiwanese travelers to fly to Okayama. There is one flight every Wednesday and Saturday. The Okayama Airport is just a 30-minute drive from the city center. Taking the Shinkansen from Okayama to Osaka takes only about 50 minutes as well — convenient transportation means less travel fatigue.
