Recently, a new café called “Light Gate No. 5” quietly opened in a lane on Taipei’s Da’an Road. Its biggest highlight is the cotton-made clouds on the ceiling that twinkle under colorful lights, creating an incredibly soothing ambiance.

Aside from the dreamy clouds being the top photo spot, the pink gradient walls paired with a full marble bar counter offer excellent visual appeal, adding a mature touch to the interior. The décor was designed by the Er San team. The seating area is divided into sofa seats, high-top seating, and private booth areas, complemented by creative lighting that brightens the space and creates different moods. The overall atmosphere is comfortable with a hint of understated luxury, making it very photogenic.

The shop offers limited-edition handmade desserts daily, made with seasonal fruits depending on the time of year. The most popular include strawberry, citrus, and apple tarts, as well as banana chocolate tarts and Earl Grey chiffon cake. Rather than going for flashy extravagance, they opt for simple and modest designs. In addition, savory pies, coffee, juices, and other beverages are also on the current menu. Considering the premium rent in the East District, the prices are on the higher side of mid-range.Those who want to try it out can visit during the trial operation period until February 18th, with all meals discounted by 20%.
