Want to enjoy cherry blossoms and have a picnic without going to Japan? Hsinchu Park is a convenient and great spot to do just that！Since February 25, Hsinchu Park has kicked off its annual cherry blossom season, which attracts many visitors every year. The event combines music performances, artist sketching sessions, and scenic area guided tours, bringing everyone together under the blooming cherry blossoms to enjoy the pink message sent by spring.

There are over 1,000 cherry blossom trees in Hsinchu Park, comprising more than 20 varieties. About 70% are Kawazu-zakura, along with bright red mountain cherry blossoms, double-petal yaezakura, Fuji cherry, Yoshino cherry, and even rarer varieties such as Kiyo-zakura, Gyoiko-zakura, and Yang Guifei cherry. There are also unnamed new varieties cultivated through the creative grafting efforts of volunteers — a unique sight not easily seen elsewhere.

The Hsinchu City Government has designed two main themes for this year’s cherry blossom season: “Spring Blossoms & Music” and “Jogging in the Woods,” allowing the public to enjoy live music performances under the blooming cherry blossoms in Hsinchu Park and have picnics beneath the trees. On March 4, there will be activities such as a flower-viewing jogging event with chances to win running shoes and live music performances. Everyone is welcome to join in and welcome spring in a healthy way.
