Spend National Day Holiday in Tainan: Unveiling a 2-Day Leisure Itinerary

This October, Tainan will host a variety of exciting arts and cultural events as well as sports competitions. There's no better time to explore Tainan during the National Day holiday than with an arts and culture trip.

The series of events in Tainan includes the Nanying International Folklore Arts Festival, Tainan Good Rice Carnival, Milkfish Industry Culture Festival, and Tugou Rural Art Season. The 2014 Nanying International Folklore Arts Festival invites over 25 groups from 20 countries to perform in Taiwan. In addition to daily performances at the main venue in Xinying District — Nanying Green Heart Park, there will also be multiple tour performances across the city. This is one of the city’s most important annual performance events. During the performance period, other exciting series of activities such as the Milkfish Industry Culture Festival, Tugou Rural Art Season, and Tainan Good Rice Carnival will also take place nearby in Xinying District. This will be followed in November by the Tainan Food Festival and the Clear-Boiled Beef Festival. The Tourism Bureau has specially integrated multiple aspects including art, agriculture, culture, tourism, and food, and has planned recommended one-day and two-day rural tourism itineraries, inviting everyone to Tainan to enjoy performances, taste delicious food, and admire beautiful scenery.

This rural tourism itinerary includes a rich variety of experiences suitable for families, such as the story-telling at the Victoria Good Food Story House (a sightseeing factory), the unique rice artwork of “Seeing Tainan,” contemporary art exhibitions in the Tugou community, the classic mud hot springs of Guanzi Ridge, the Michelin three-star recommended attraction of Nanxiang Dawang Temple, the romantic white crystal chapel — a perfect wedding photo spot in Beimen, the beautiful sunset at Jingzijiao Tile-Pans Salt Field, and the elegant black-winged stilts — the coastal birds of the west coast.
