This year’s mugwort flower season takes the “three treasures of the Grass Mountain Ancient Trail”—“the ancient trail, the wind, and the mugwort flowers”—as its main theme, and presents the stunning imagery of dancing mugwort blossoms along the trail under the theme “Seeking Autumn and Dancing with Wind and Mugwort.”

Continuing the tradition of previous years’ Grass Mountain Ancient Trail Mugwort Flower Seasons, the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration specially offers visitors activities such as “Tea at the Inn,” “Peaceful Porridge at Dali Tian Gong Temple for a Safe Journey,” and “Rubbing Rubbings DIY”; and to help visitors better understand the Grass Mountain Ancient Trail, the administration has arranged a rich variety of special weekend events: “Appearance of the Green Forest Heroes,” “Draw Good Fortune While Exploring the Ancient Trail,” “Learn About Mugwort Flower Ecology,” and more, aiming to provide even more enriching experiences for visitors who come to the mugwort flower season every year.Director Oh Bear of the Tourism Bureau will also make a special appearance from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM on November 1 at the Grass Mountain Ancient Trail, enjoying the scenic views and mountain breezes with visitors of all ages.

Interestingly, this year’s Grass Mountain Ancient Trail will create a sense of time displacement, as during the weekend event days, the hosts of various challenge stations will either be green forest heroes or inn proprietresses, making visitors feel as if they have stepped back into the bygone days of the ancient trail. After completing the challenge stations and collecting stamps while interacting with the costumed characters, visitors can also draw souvenirs on-site at the event service stations (Dali Visitor Center, Yuanwangkeng Water Park Station) to take home. Visitors who come on weekdays can also join weekend visitors in the weekly grand prize draws for hotel stays, functional watches, backpacks, hiking boots, and more！

To provide visitors with more convenient mugwort viewing experiences, the administration has specially arranged weekend shuttle buses between “Fulong Visitor Center - Yuanwangkeng Water Park” and “Dali Visitor Center - Fulong Visitor Center.” In addition, the event calls on local businesses to launch a series of discounts, making it easier for the public to plan richer mugwort flower season itineraries.
