New Taipei’s Starlight Bridge is now open, adding a dazzling new attraction to Xizhi’s night sky

Following the Crescent Bridge, New Taipei City Government has built its fourth “Starlight Bridge,” a pedestrian and cyclist-only structure, which officially opened on October 31. Spanning the Keelung River, the bridge features a unique “single inclined-tower cable-stayed” design, with the inclined tower and bridge body adorned with dot-shaped lights that create a twinkling starry effect at night. The 270-meter S-shaped bridge deck offers resting areas, and nighttime light art aligns with the “Starlight” theme, presented under the motifs of “Splendor” and “Purity” to convey the bridge’s core concept. It embodies hopes for limitless potential and a bright future in the Xizhi area.

Starlight Bridge is the first scenic bridge to span the Keelung River. Located near Wudu Railway Station, it joins other pedestrian and bicycle bridges such as Xindian’s Sunshine Bridge, Yingge’s Dragon Kiln Bridge, and the Crescent Bridge connecting Banqiao and Xinzhuang.
