A 30-meter Christmas train rolls into Hong Kong! The Harbour City shines bright

Every Christmas, Santa Claus travels around the world in a sleigh to deliver gifts. This year, Santa has taken a special ride on the Christmas Train, making an appearance at Harbour City from November 7, 2014, to January 4, 2015.

This Christmas, Harbour City has adopted the theme “Christmas Star City,” transforming the outdoor plaza of Ocean Terminal into a Christmas train station dominated by red, white, and gold hues. Parked within the station is a 30-meter-long “Christmas train” covered in stars. The giant steam locomotive’s chimney also emits countless stars, and at night, lighting and smoke effects create the illusion of movement, adding to the romantic atmosphere. The two rear carriages feature a 3-meter-tall snowman, a large bear, and Christmas baubles. Visitors can board the “Christmas train” by donating HK$20 to the Hong Kong Leukaemia Foundation and have the chance to take a photo with Santa Claus.

The Christmas train station features several uniquely themed “shops” extending from the plaza up to the grand staircase. The four large display windows opposite the train are decorated with Christmas themes including a Ferris wheel, teddy bears, snowy mountains, and fashion. Visitors can even step into the fashion-themed window to take photos and play the role of top models. The ceiling of the grand staircase is densely covered with large hexagonal stars and star-shaped lights, along with over ten glowing star-shaped frames of varying sizes, creating the appearance of a giant three-dimensional Christmas star from afar.
