Yayoi Kusama is here！Asia’s largest touring exhibition makes its debut

Yayoi Kusama (KUSAMA YAYOI), an avant-garde artist unparalleled in contemporary art with her bold visual language and profound spiritual aesthetics, has long captivated audiences in Taiwan. From February 7, 2015, onwards, the "KUSAMA YAYOI, A Dream I Dreamed" exhibition toured successively in Kaohsiung and Taichung. The show features classic works spanning 60 years of Kusama’s career alongside eye-catching new pieces, marking the first-ever solo exhibition of Yayoi Kusama in Taiwan.

"KUSAMA YAYOI, A Dream I Dreamed: Asia Touring Exhibition" is curated by Japan’s KUSAMA Enterprise and Director Kim Sunhee of Daegu Art Museum in South Korea. The exhibition made its first stop at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, officially debuting to Taiwanese audiences, before moving to the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung on June 6. The exhibition presents Kusama’s astonishing artistic trajectory in a comprehensive and diverse manner — from iconic works that showcase her vibrant magic such as "Song of a Manhattan Suicide Addict" and "Infinity Mirrored Room," to her most well-known "Pumpkin" series. With nearly 120 pieces including installations, sculptures, paintings, and video art, all built upon vibrant colors and repetitive polka dots, the exhibition holistically outlines Kusama’s artistic career and invites visitors to immerse themselves in the globally acclaimed world of Yayoi Kusama through this showcase.
