Hailing from Finland in Northern Europe, Moomin’s warm, comforting, and adorable image was widely popularized in Japan and has received immense popularity. Now, Moomin’s charm has also arrived in Hong Kong. On December 5th, the first-ever Moomin Café opened here, where you can enjoy dinner alongside a giant Moomin plush toy—even solo dining no longer feels lonely.

Moomin first made its appearance in Finland in 1945. With its chubby, hippo-like form and extremely gentle eyes, it quickly won over many fans. Especially with the rise of television in the 1990s, Moomin became a household name. In 2003, the Moomin craze reached Japan, where the first Moomin-themed café opened in Tokyo, followed by three more branches and six coffee corners.
