Each winter, as temperatures drop, cities across Japan are lit up with romantic, sparkling lights that add a touch of warmth to the chilly evenings. Osaka’s popular “Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan” once again hosts its “Winter Light Exhibition” in front of the aquarium, complete with a delightful parade of adorable penguins.
Each winter, as temperatures drop, cities across Japan are lit up with romantic, sparkling lights that add a touch of warmth to the chilly evenings. Osaka’s popular “Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan” once again hosts its “Winter Light Exhibition” in front of the aquarium, complete with a delightful parade of adorable penguins.

This year, the aquarium used 1.2 million bulbs to create a giant blue whale leaping out of the sea. Every half hour, the lights dance to music, transforming into a vibrant underwater world on land — the largest display of its kind to date. Additionally, from Christmas until January 15th, the aquarium offers a special penguin parade where cute penguins waddle out of their exhibit to meet visitors up close and celebrate the winter season.
