To celebrate 2015, Mister Donut has once again partnered with the Sanrio family to launch a limited-time “Hello Kitty Doughnuts” series. The collection includes four flavors: Apple Brioche, Apple French Cruller, Banana Opera, and Banana Chocolate Doughnut, priced between NT$40 and NT$42. These Taiwan-exclusive items, developed through the collaboration between Taiwan’s Mister Donut and Sanrio, are decorated with Hello Kitty’s signature bow and feature sweet macaron-toned strawberry and banana chocolate sauces. With apples—Hello Kitty’s favorite fruit—at the heart of the design, this is the first time that apple flesh has been incorporated into the fillings, adding a unique tangy-sweet taste inside the brioche and French cruller layers. The adorable designs paired with delicious flavors offer both a visual and gustatory delight.

Additionally, recognizing Taiwanese people’s love for Sichuan cuisine, Mister Donut has ventured into Chinese food by collaborating with renowned Chinese chef Chen Jianyi to launch the “Sichuan Braised Noodles Series.” This rare combination of braised noodles with iconic Sichuan dishes offers a fresh take on Sichuan flavors. The lineup includes two varieties: Sichuan Mapo Tofu Braised Noodles and Sichuan Spicy & Sour Braised Noodles (priced at NT$150), now available at 11 designated stores across Taiwan. The Sichuan Braised Noodles Series is an exclusive flavor co-developed over ten months by Japan’s Mister Donut and Chinese cooking master Chen Jianyi. Using the traditional Chinese cooking method known as “braising,” the noodles are infused in a thick, flavorful broth with toppings. For the essential spicy element of Sichuan cuisine, each of the two noodle types features a uniquely blended chili oil, resulting in distinct Sichuan-style braised noodle flavors. This new series is expected to spark a Sichuan cuisine craze this winter!

Since last year, Mister Donut has continuously broken free from being just a doughnut shop, adopting various innovative business models. For instance, its all-new second-generation stores bring an urban café vibe, and with hardware and software upgrades, they offer more diverse new products. Responding to different seasons and tastes in sync with Japan, Mister Donut has attracted more male customers, office workers, and families. Items such as its Japanese-style ramen series sell nearly a thousand bowls monthly, boosting overall store performance by 30%. As a result, the brand hopes to spark another sales wave this winter with its “Sichuan Braised Noodles” and “Hello Kitty Doughnuts” series.
