Recently, waves of cold fronts have swept through, bringing not only a slight chill but also causing around 60 to 70 percent of the plum blossoms in Chiayi’s Meishan Park to bloom. It is expected that they will all be in full blossom this week. In addition to admiring the plum blossoms, the Meishan area also has several shops selling plum-based products, allowing visitors to enjoy both the sight and taste of the blossoms.

Located in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, Meishan Park differs from other well-known plum blossom viewing spots as it is close to downtown Meishan, just about 5 kilometers from National Freeway No. 3 (Meishan Interchange), making it very convenient to reach. The park covers an area of 6 hectares and is home to around 3,000 plum trees. The blooming season runs from December to February of the following year, lasting about three months. When in full bloom, the park turns into a sea of snow-white blossoms, offering a highly romantic experience.

Meishan Park has been planted with plum trees since the Japanese colonial period. After renovation, it now features a complete loop trail, pavilions, observation decks, and other facilities. It is a premier plum blossom viewing destination in southern Taiwan. In addition to the famous plum blossoms, the park also cultivates a variety of other plants such as peach, plum, peony, azalea, and poinsettia, giving the park a different look in each season.
