But coming all the way to Miaoli and just doing that would be a pity—why not head to Tai’an Guanzhi Hot Spring Resort located by the Wenshui Stream in the Tai’an Hot Spring area, nestled among mountains and shrouded in drifting clouds? Soak in the hot springs here for a night and soothe the aches and fatigue from a day’s travels.

Tai’an Guanzhi Hot Spring Resort is situated in Jinshui Village, Tai’an Township, nearly 500 meters above sea level, embraced by clouds, mountain mists, and streams, blending into the river valley and mountain forests. The terrain features crisscrossing rock formations and tree roots amid Taiwan’s diverse native forest landscapes, with distinct seasonal changes—especially noticeable in autumn and winter. The exterior of the resort retains exposed concrete walls and raw architectural textures, where areas exposed to moisture naturally grow moss over time. With the passage of years, the entire building exudes an elegant atmosphere reminiscent of a European castle. Interspersed with crooked wooden fence supports, it looks very much like an unfinished “construction site”! This avant-garde architectural design is the ingenious work of renowned architect Cheng Tang-Huang.
