The giant gingerbread man at Tainan’s 2015 Flower Festival is super cute and eye-catching

Tainan’s 2015 Flower Festival is about to kick off. This year, the theme is “blooming everywhere,” with flower displays spread across six small and medium-sized parks. The festival runs from Valentine’s Day on February 14th and concludes on March 5th. Currently, many installation artworks are already on display in open spaces, attracting many visitors to admire and take photos.

This year, the Flower Festival installations are spread across not only the original locations — Nanying Green Heart in Xinying District and Jiali Park in Jiali District — but also six new parks: Liujia Multi-Purpose Sports Park and Xigang Central Park (to promote the “one park per district” initiative), as well as Shuiping Park and Shuijiao She Park in the Southern District. The 20-day event centers around “four major themes: Lifestyle & Creativity 'Miss Tainan’; Gourmet Ancient Capital 'Dine in Tainan’; Industrial Features 'Fun in Tainan’; and Canal Technology Art 'Art in Tainan.’” At the entrance of each exhibition area, an insect hotel art piece combining green walls and ecological care serves as the entrance motif, symbolizing a vision of livability and eco-friendly wellness. Additionally, a cute little sign-holding sheep, themed around the Year of the Sheep, is installed at the entrance to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

The thematic designs of the four major themes across the six parks are as follows:
● Lifestyle & Creativity 'Miss Tainan’: Features colorful cloud installations by Leihoo, aerial parade formations by Leihoo, aircraft installation art, wildflower fields, and creative floral areas, telling the cultural story of the Shuijiao She Air Force Veterans' Village.

● Gourmet Ancient Capital 'Dine in Tainan’: Showcases dreamy and traditional desserts at Shuiping Park through installations such as shaded flower fields, rainbow balloons, floral hot air balloons, pineapple owls, citrus-inspired creations, banana-like fruit art, tri-color bean flowers, pomelo cats bringing cheer, dreamy fruit popsicles, and traditional bean paste red bean cakes.

● Industrial Features 'Fun in Tainan’: Xigang Central Park, Jiali Park, and Liujia Multi-Purpose Leisure Sports Park are each decorated with features reflecting their regional characteristics, such as hemp and millet industries, forest reading experiences, and anthurium flower meanings.
● Canal Technology Art 'Art in Tainan’: Nanying Green Heart Park in Xinying presents urban kaleidoscope-inspired installations including semiconductor chips shimmering with floral reflections, swans spreading love across Nanying, light mirror floral portals, prism blue-green floral reflections, and floral reflections of Tainan as a livable city.
