Cosmos relay bloom: Sunflowers and cosmos in full glory paint the riverside in vibrant hues

Another sea of flowers has arrived at Taipei’s riverside parks. The cosmos at Zhongzheng Riverside are blooming in full force, with their flowering period spanning the 228 Holiday and continuing into mid-March. In addition to Zhongzheng Riverside, a sea of cosmos can also be admired at Machangding, while the floral displays at Daonan and Rainbow Riverside are nearing their end.

The Water Resources Department stated that the Zhongzheng Riverside grassland has been adorned with a colorful array of cosmos, covering an area of 2,300 square meters. The seeds sown this time are mixed-color, featuring pink, lilac, and white cosmos blooms in vivid and brilliant hues. Paired with the scenic beauty of the Xindian River, the view is simply breathtaking. The cosmos can grow up to one meter tall, swaying gracefully in the breeze under the sunlight, adding an elegant touch to the riverside landscape. The public is encouraged to seize the opportunity to come and admire the flowers.

This floral display is located near Zhongzheng Bridge, right beside the bike path. Visitors can walk to the riverside park from under Zhongzheng Bridge or enter from Machangding Memorial Park and head toward Zhongzheng Bridge to reach the flower sea. The Water Resources Department also reminds the public to be mindful when taking photos—please avoid trampling on the flowers so that more people can enjoy this beautiful display.

Zhongzheng Riverside is equipped with various sports courts. Aside from flower viewing, visitors can also engage in some exercise on the courts to sweat out the fatigue of the week. Nearby, Shida Night Market offers a taste of Taiwanese street food and international cuisine. Starting from Machangding Memorial Park, visitors can first admire the cosmos sea, then cycle southward to Guting Riverside Park to take photos with the romantic wedding-themed art installations. On weekends, consider visiting the riverside to enjoy the flowers, take a stroll, and unwind in the glow of the setting sun.

Transportation Information:
1. Bus: Take bus routes 5, 214, 227, 241, 242, 243, 248, 249, 250, 262, etc., and get off at “Ziqiang Market.” Walk to Zhongzheng Bridge to enter Zhongzheng Riverside Park.

2. Bicycle Rental:
Starting from Guting Riverside Park, you can rent a bike at the “Riverside Bicycle Rental Station - JIngfu Station.”
Starting from Machangding Memorial Park, you can rent a bike at the “Riverside Bicycle Rental Station - Huazhong Station” within the park.

3. Driving: Park at the underground parking lot of the Youth Park Baseball Stadium.
