Taipei Citizens' Fun Day + "Changinging" Concert – Mayor Ko Attends the Event

April 3 was the first day of the April holiday. From 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm that afternoon, all Taipei City Government employees were mobilized to use the venue of the “Citizens’ Fun Day – Babies, Mothers & Digital Cable TV Promotion Carnival,” hosted by a cable TV operator. They set up numerous interactive booths related to Taipei municipal affairs, taking advantage of the holiday crowd to engage directly with residents and promote city initiatives. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je also personally visited the event, walking around the booths and guiding participants to gain an in-depth understanding of municipal operations.

The Citizens’ Fun Day featured 14 municipal-themed booths, including “Public Housing,” “Garden City,” “Animal-Friendly City,” “Universiade,” “Mobile Parent-Child Pavilion,” and “i-Voting.” To ensure genuine interaction with the public, various bureaus and departments went all out, using creative and fun methods to let attendees truly feel the city government team’s dedication and efficiency in advancing municipal projects. To create a joyful atmosphere, the bustling fun fair kicked off at 1:00 pm, offering many interactive booths for children to explore. Additionally, there were four large free inflatable castles for kids to enjoy to the fullest.
Later, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, the “Changinging Concert,” hosted by the Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism, continued the festivities. It invited 100 grassroots staff, volunteers, and citizens to participate. The event showcased footage documenting everyone’s collective efforts for Taipei over the past 100 days, along with classic pieces such as “1812 Overture” and “Meistersinger Overture,” allowing attendees to feel the transforming city. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je also gave a speech, sharing his reflections on his first 100 days in office directly with the public.
This open-air concert received generous support from multiple musicians. Cellist Chang Cheng-chieh served as the “Music Director,” with participation from vocalists Lee Wen-chih, Principal Jiang Wei-chung of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, conductor Huang Han-tang, as well as the Taipei Symphony Orchestra’s affiliated wind ensemble and chamber orchestra. Volunteers, citizens, and grassroots staff involved in the city’s transformation over the past 100 days entered to the majestic sounds of the “Meistersinger Overture,” marking the start of the concert. The stage screen simultaneously displayed scenes of everyone getting ready for work, capturing the start of a day in Taipei.Then, under the performance theme “Believe in Taipei,” a short film titled “100 Days of Change” was shown, accompanied by Rossini’s “La gazza ladra,” visually narrating Taipei’s transformation in a documentary style. Following this, countertenor Lee Wen-chih led the audience into the world of “Imagining Taipei.” His unique countertenor voice is sure to amaze and enchant. Other highlights included “Ave Maria,” “Peer Gynt Suite – Morning Mood,” Tyzen Hsiao’s “Angels from Formosa,” and the classic “Sky of Taipei,” allowing all participants to experience different moments of a day in Taipei.
