Hidden within the always bustling and fast-paced urban area of Taipei lies a Japanese garden restaurant with a slow soul. After one and a half years of redesign and planning, this nearly century-old Japanese-style official residence has been transformed into “Leputing,” reviving its former glory.

Located at the corner of Hangzhou South Road, Section 2, No. 67, Leputing was formerly a Japanese dormitory in Kinma. Due to years of neglect, it had fallen into disrepair. In 2013, it was taken over by the Lixie Lifestyle Culture Team, who integrated the living aesthetics of “food, scenery, and art,” blending the beauty of old and new to let food, scenery, and art engage in dialogue here.

To integrate local culture and humanity, Leputing invited food ingredient experts as consultants. The restaurant presents Taiwan’s fine local ingredients through cuisine that blends Japanese seasoning culture with French cooking techniques—such as locally bred tender and sweet chickens, healthy and reassuring seasonal fatty pigs, and Ah-Hoshi shrimp and shellfish sourced from vibrant sunshine, natural seawater, and ecological farming. In the evening, it also offers U.S. Prime-grade steaks and imported Canadian fresh Boston lobsters. These pure and natural ingredients from the ocean, pasture, and fields are used to create the freshest seasonal dishes as the four seasons change.
