Taitung’s Iron Flower Village has always been a popular spot for tourists. Since the year of99the Republic of China, the new Iron Flower settlement has been selected as part of the International Charming Hub Demonstration Project. Jointly operated by the local government and the Taiwan Railways Administration, the old dormitory area of the railway has been transformed into a cultural and creative complex and restaurant that blends modernity with local characteristics. After years of effort, it has connected a cluster of specialty shops, the renovated old station square, an indigenous cultural and creative industry hub, Eslite, Iron Flower Village, and the former tax office building, now revamped intoTIMan international hotel and the Showtime Cinemas, forming the “New Iron Flower Settlement.” This has brought renewed vibrancy to the area around the old station, while also driving urban transformation and elevating Taitung’s status as an international tourist destination for its charming city appeal.
