In recent years, I’ve always wanted to plan a trip centered around cycling. To gradually achieve this goal, I decided to use Tamsui as my test case—to experience cycling in a new place while carrying photography gear and shooting freely. Tamsui itself is a popular tourist destination, packed with attractions and eateries, and you can also enjoy the sunset by the river—it’s a great place to relax and take a vacation. For cyclists, you can ride from Tamsui all the way to Taipei Harbor, but I chose to rent a bike at Tamsui Old Street and cycle to Sanzhi. Along the way, you can admire flowers, and Sanzhi has quite a few boutique cafes where I could unwind.

To match this cycling trip, I chose to stay at “HowToTrip─Tamsui Breeze,” located near Fisherman’s Wharf. Take the MRT to Tamsui Station and transfer to the Red26(or836,837)bus, get off at the Towing Yard Station, and it only takes about10-15minutes to arrive.
