● Shuxia Xia Zi Zongzi

Xia Zi originally sold northern-style zongzi, where the fried rice was pre-cooked, then mixed with lean pork, mushrooms, taro, dried bamboo shoots, and other ingredients before being wrapped and steamed. Now they also sell southern-style zongzi, which involves cooking raw rice along with pork belly, mushrooms, peanuts, rice beans, and egg yolks all wrapped in bamboo leaves. Although not the oldest zongzi shop in the area, business is brisk—they sometimes sell up to a thousand zongzi a day. Emphasizing handmade, on-site wrapping, customers can see the hygiene and taste the deliciousness.
