Japan’s Seibu Railway is offering a limited-run, dreamy Sea of Clouds train service on August 25 and 27. Departing from Ikebukuro after midnight, the train takes passengers to Mitsumineguchi in Chichibu, where they can enjoy a sea of clouds at sunrise, as well as authentic Chichibu soba and local crafts.

The Sea of Clouds Train departs Ikebukuro Station at 00:29 and is scheduled to arrive at Mitsumineguchi in Chichibu at 04:30. Passengers can enjoy the early morning scenery and the sea of clouds at this remote location. However, due to the complex factors involved in cloud formation, visitors may not always be able to see the sea of clouds. But even without the sea of clouds, the unique experience, delicious food, and beautiful scenery — including the scenic Ome Line, Okutama, Hinohara, and the Chichibu Railway Museum — make the journey worthwhile.
