Recently, Tropical Storm Linfa passed through Taiwan, and news media conducted interviews in Kenting. In the news footage, a tourist surnamed Zhang said, "A typhoon is meant for canoeing, right? What else would you do?" The seemingly controversial footage and response quickly went viral online, and the tourist was given the nickname "Canoe Bro."

The news aired on the 5th. At that time, although the weather in Kenting was not ideal, many tourists still went to play in the water and enjoy the waves. Canoe Bro, who was interviewed in person, stated that he made the comment as a form of sarcasm toward the reporter, but it was edited and broadcast, sparking heated online discussions. Regarding the subsequent viral trend, Canoe Bro said it didn’t affect him much—what mattered was that everyone had fun. When asked what people should actually do on a typhoon day, Canoe Bro didn’t joke around and earnestly urged everyone to "stay updated with the news, monitor the typhoon’s progress, and if a sea warning has been issued, absolutely avoid going canoeing or engaging in any water activities. Leave the area promptly."

Additionally, although Tropical Storm Linfa has moved away, Moderate Typhoon Chan-hom continues to impact Taiwan. The Central Weather Bureau states that10the day will be when Chan-hom is closest to Taiwan. Whether it makes landfall or not, it will bring wind and rain to northern Taiwan, and long waves and strong winds are likely to occur in nearby waters. Everyone should prepare for the typhoon and avoid going out.
