Taipei’s 8th civic sports center, the New Wutai Civic Sports Center, officially opened for trial operation from July 19 to August 1 and is expected to begin full operations on August 5. The five-story building is fully equipped with various sports facilities, a reading room, meeting rooms, and more. During the trial period, from 8 AM to 8 PM, the entire facility is open for free public use.

The internal facilities of the New Wutai Sports Center include: a heated swimming pool, spa pool, children’s pool, sauna, steam room, and concession stand on the first floor; a chess and reading room, children’s playroom, meeting rooms, and offices on the second floor; a multi-purpose court, billiard room, badminton court, fitness center, and spin class studio on the third floor; rhythm dance studios and table tennis rooms on the fourth floor; and martial arts studios and squash courts on the fifth floor. These facilities cater to all age groups—seniors, adults, and youth—and provide functions such as community social events, leisure and wellness, physical training, and competitive sports. The center features a diverse design for educational, recreational, fitness, and intellectual development.
