It’s come straight out of a storybook—the New Taipei Children’s Art Festival’s Fairy Tale City is back!

It’s already halfway through summer vacation and you still don’t know where to take the kids? The “2015 New Taipei City Children’s Art Festival—Fairy Tale Castle,” which was previously suspended due to the Formosa Fun Coast Dust Explosion incident, has made its comeback from August 8 to 16 at Civic Square. In addition, the “435 Creative Magic City” has been running since July 21 through August 30, inviting families and friends of all ages to come and play!

The “2015 New Taipei City Children’s Art Festival” kicked off first at Banqiao’s 435 Art Zone, the “435 Creative Magic City”! With a focus on children’s creativity and artistic development, over a hundred little creative magicians dressed up to celebrate the opening of the city on July 25, with the first 100 participants receiving a magic goodie bag worth over NT$100. Families can explore a magical world built around the five senses using a treasure map challenge, immersing themselves in visual sensations and hidden wonders and fun.

Next, the “Fairy Tale Castle” held at Banqiao Civic Square officially opened on August 8 as the next highlight. On the afternoon of that day at 3:30 PM, there was a special opening event, followed by an opening performance at 7:30 PM featuring the If Kids Theater Troupe presenting the large-scale musical “The Enchanted Valley of Drums.” The lively event combined traditional Indigenous dance and music, presented in the popular form of a musical, and all activities were free to attend—families are welcome to come and enjoy the show.
