Japan’s government is working to attract overseas tourists for sightseeing and spending. Starting in May, Okayama City’s long-established “Omachi Shopping Street” and “Romantic-dori Shopping Street” introduced new duty-free regulations. Additionally, following Okayama City’s “Omachi Shopping Street,” “Asahikawa Heiwa-dori Shopping Street” in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, also became a duty-free shopping street on the6th1of the month.
