Anpanman opens its first overseas official store in Taiwan at Taipei!

The official announcement from the wildly popular Japanese anime "Anpanman" states that the classic cartoon, which has accompanied generations through childhood, plans to open its first overseas official store, "Anpanman Official Shop Taipei," on September 10 in Taipei City.

Anpanman was created by manga artist and picture book author Takashi Yanase. It is Japan’s first picture book themed around helping the underprivileged. The author hoped to "spread love and courage to children around the world," using the story to teach kids that giving to others brings warmth and joy. The anime has aired over a thousand episodes and is deeply loved by both kids and adults.

Now, to allow more people to experience the creator’s heartfelt message, the officials have decided to expand Anpanman overseas this year. Considering Taiwan’s deep understanding of Japanese culture and the fact that Anpanman has gained considerable fame in Taiwan since its cable TV broadcasts began in 2000, the first overseas official store, "ANPANMAN Official Shop Taipei," will open on September 10 at "Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A8, Taipei Xinyi New Life Square." The store will be themed around "playing and learning happily with Anpanman" and will meet fans there.
