Kyushu JR’s Luxury Train Unveils the Dreamy “Aru Ressha”

Following the Seven Stars in Kyushu, Japan’s Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) has once again launched a brand-new sightseeing train, the “Aru Ressha,” which officially began service on August 8. Combining classical European and Japanese retro styles, it boasts not only a dazzling exterior but also an opulent interior decor.

The design of the “Aru Ressha” draws inspiration from the model of the same-name train created by Harimoto Shintarō, and was brought to life under the supervision of the former Railway Museum, recreating the look of a luxury train from a century ago. The entire train features a golden color scheme accented with black patterns, presenting a luxurious appearance. The train consists of two carriages: Carriage No. 1 offers a romantic classical European ambiance with open seating; Carriage No. 2 features a Japanese-style wooden design with private two-person spaces. The train serves meals designed by renowned Japanese chef Narisawa Yuhku, including one main dish, three desserts, and traditional Japanese sweets.
