Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
In the cold spring, it’s not only cherry blossoms that bloom. The lupines on Maokong in Taipei City also brave the frost, stubbornly bursting into golden little bells amidst the fresh greenery each year. The Taipei City Government Department of Public Works, Bureau of Urban Development, in collaboration with local farmers in Maokong, sowed lupines on the fallow farmland around the Camphor Tree Trail late last year. They are now in full bloom, carpeting the land with a golden-yellow expanse.

Around 1.5 hectares of fallow farmland near the Camphor Tree Trail have been transformed into a lupine landscape this year, featuring a single golden-yellow variety. The lupines began blooming in full during the Lunar New Year period and will remain in bloom for about another two weeks. The area around the Camphor Tree Trail consists of terraced fields farmed by Maokong locals. In a special touch, vintage white bicycles have been modified to evoke the feeling of pedaling through the fields with a gentle breeze — adding a romantic vibe. Additionally, a cute black bear photo spot has been set up, allowing visitors to take pictures with the lupine sea from various angles.
