A Complete Guide to 6 Must-Visit Routes in Taichung

To help visitors make the most of their trip to Taichung, the Taichung City Government has launched six themed travel routes—Religious, Ecological, Cultural, Fashionable, Sports, and Leisure—covering popular attractions such as Fengjia Night Market, Dajia Mazu Temple, and the National Museum of Natural Science, as well as seven emerging highlights including Art Garden Boulevard, Tunghai University’s Christ Church, and Gaomei Wetlands, inviting both domestic and international tourists to explore Taichung together.

The Taichung City Government’s Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that the six travel routes are tailored to the three sub-centers of the Coastal Twin Ports, Wuri High-Speed Rail, and Fengyuan Mountain City, with two routes planned for each as follows:

● “Religious Taichung”

Covering Dajia, Da’an, and Waipu districts, this route highlights Mazu culture, Anvil charm, Da’an seaside, and Waipu farming and animal husbandry, taking you to sites such as Dajia Mazu Temple, Da’an Seaside Park, and the Provincial Farmers’ Association Leisure Farm.

● “Ecological Taichung”

Covering Qingshui, Wujih, and Shalu districts, this route offers views of wetland sunsets, harbor art, and Aofeng scenic spots, including attractions like Aofengshan Sports Park, Qingshui Rice Cake, Wujih Fishing Port, Wujih Salt Cake, and Gaomei Wetlands.

● “Cultural Taichung”

Covering Wufeng, Dali, Taiping, Wuri, Dadu, and Longjing districts, this route features historical sites, distillery industries, cultural arts, and the legacy of success, taking you to places such as the Lin Family Mansion in Wufeng, Wufeng Farmers’ Association Winery, Asia Modern Art Museum, and Wanggaoliao Night View.

● “Fashionable Taichung”

This route covers the original downtown Taichung area, highlighting green corridor pathways, cultural and creative performances, fashionable shopping, and gourmet dining, with stops at Miyahara Eye Clinic, National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung Prefectural Hall, Art Garden Boulevard, National Taichung Theater, Tunghai University’s Christ Church, and Fengjia Night Market.
