Japan’s popular mascot Kumamon keeps making blunders, winning even more hearts

Kumamon, the mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan, is definitely one of the country’s most beloved mascot stars. With his adorable appearance and hilarious, nonsensical behavior, he has a huge fan base in both Taiwan and Japan. Recently, his series of online blunders have kept coming, further boosting his popularity. Whether he’s cooking with fire, riding a bike, or falling over in cute and funny ways, he always brings joy.

● Kumamon at a movie event
To promote the movie “Ted 2,” the film company specially invited bear mascots from all over Japan to participate in a TED meet-up event. The bear mascots dancing together on stage were incredibly cute, but toward the end of the event, Hokkaido’s Melon Bear suddenly went wild and bit Kumamon, making the whole audience burst into laughter.

● Kumamon goes speeding

Kumamon participated in the Suzuki 8-Hour Endurance Race in Mie Prefecture, wearing a helmet and making a cool entrance on a motorcycle. Hollywood superstar Keanu Reeves also attended the event that day and happily took a photo with Kumamon.

Invited by Fuji TV, Kumamon visited a mochi-pounding event and attempted to ride a unicycle as part of the show. However, he ended up falling quite comically, leaving the audience in fits of laughter. Later, he also visited a power plant, where he attempted to ride a unicycle again but immediately fell over upon dismounting.
