The image shows Typhoon Kiro, No. 17, which had already crossed the International Date Line, facing off with another typhoon, creating a pair of watery, eye-like formations. Coupled with the surrounding circulation that resembles eye sockets and the cloud bands below, the whole ensemble looks like the smiling face of an innocent child.
