Located within the Seiryu Art Village in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, the Tetsu Tea House (Tea House Tetsu) was personally designed and built by renowned Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori. Crafted from natural materials atop a massive hinoki (Japanese cypress) trunk, this treehouse tea house exudes a serene and elegant Japanese charm. Though it appears to be supported solely by the tree trunk, there’s no need to worry too much—Terunobu Fujimori’s works have stood the test of storms and earthquakes. Just relax and let yourself be immersed in the rustic ambiance while enjoying a peaceful tea time.

The best time to visit the Tetsu Tea House is in spring when the Seiryu Art Village is surrounded by cherry blossoms. When in full bloom, the vibrant pink petals create a breathtaking sea of flowers, and the quaint tea house, nestled in this floral ocean, transforms into a fairytale-like elfin cabin, inviting visitors to drift into the most beautiful dreams.
