Beyond the Five Wonders of Alishan — sunrise, sea of clouds, sunset glow, forests, and forest railway — Alishan National Forest Recreation Area has added another stunning attraction: the beauty of wild streams. Zhuzhi Bridge in Alishan is located next to Xianglin Arch Bridge, featuring hand-laid stone embankments paired with ripple-shaped drop structures to create a cascading waterfall landscape. This design allows stream-dwelling creatures to inhabit and be protected within the gaps of the stone embankments. Continuing with ripple-shaped bed stabilizers paired with scenic pools, it forms a water curtain spectacle. The murmuring waterfall scene resembles a fairyland on earth, making it a must-visit spot in Alishan.

Zhuzhi Bridge embodies the concept of “Noah’s Ark, Where Dreams Take Flight,” spanning a tributary of the Alishan Stream. The Chiayi Forest Management Office integrated the restoration of Alishan’s wild streams into the project, ensuring both ecological engineering quality and aesthetic appeal. Visitors can enjoy this “beauty of wild streams” landscape amid mountain mists, gaze at the pristine water curtains, listen to the gentle flow of water, and relax by the streambank with the soothing sounds of flowing water. Let the murmuring stream wash away your worries, while the forest’s phytoncides and the negative ions generated by the waterfall water curtain create the perfect stress relief. Strolling along “Zhuzhi Bridge” feels like walking in a fairyland, and at night, the illuminated water curtains create a beautiful spot for night photography.
